Is there a more explosive economic concept than combining iProducts with China? Didn't think so. In that vein, MarketWatch reports that China Unicom starts to ship iPhone 4 in China next month.
Our mind is boggled by the concept of hundreds of millions of frenetic Chinese citizens roaming the fastest growing country on earth clutching iPhones and iPads.
On to the rest of the news:
- Fertilizer maker Potash has rejected a $39 billion takeover bid (Bloomberg). Hey, I'd take $39 billion.
- Industrial production in U.S. increased 1% in July (Bloomberg BW). File under: Good news.
- Gulf oil still leaking and spreading (CNN). Problems in Gulf won't be over for a long time.
- India, Blackberry may be close to resolving security dispute (New York Times). Still no decision on whether to order the chicken or lamb curry, though.
- HP is Buying the security company Fortify (VentureBeat). Software said to "reduce business risk," but apparently can't prevent CEO from secret liasons with soft-porn actresses.
- Wired declares the Web dead (TechCrunch). Yeah, right. And automobiles are obsolete too.
- You could get a 7-inch iPad for Christmas (PCWorld). I'd take one.
